Minister of Economy and Sustainable Development Davor Filipović and other honoured guests visited NEXE d.d. on the occassion of the inclusion of the CO₂NTESSA project in the List of Strategic Investment Projects of the Republic of Croatia
 

Našice, 26 October 2023 – The project CO2NTESSA – the largest project of NEXE Group has been included in the List of Strategic Investment Projects of the Republic of Croatia. This was announced today as part of the visit of Minister Davor Filipović to factory NEXE d.d. in Našice. On that occassion a working meeting was held in which, in addition to Minister Filipović and his associates, the Ambassador of the Federal Republic of Germany Dr Christian Hellbach, Head of Osijek-Baranja County Ivan Anušić, Mayor of the City of Našice Krešimir Kašuba, President of the Board of Croatian Hydrocarbon Agency Marijan Krpan, President of the Board of Plinacro Ivica Arar, Dean of the Faculty of Mining Geology and Petrolium Engineering Vladislav Brkić, NEXE d.d.'s partners in the project CO₂NTESSA Member of the Board Frank Ruoss and Business Development and Sales Director Philip Glörfeld from Thyssenkrupp and representatives of the Board of NEXE d.d. participated. At the meeting, in addition to current information related to the CO₂NTESSA project, other NEXE Group's projects aimed at decarbonization, green and energy transition of business were discussed. Project of using recycled construction waste was also presented.

The CO₂NTESSA project with estimated value of EUR 400 million is one of the largest planned investements in industry in Croatia. It is a project that implies modification of clinker production and production of cement without CO₂ emissions to atmosphere from 2029.

Expected effects of realization of this project such as introduction of new technology aimed at sustainable and cost-effective cement production with zero greenhouse gas emissions and potential for development of the first Croatian CCS system, which will enable development of the hub for transport and storage (Croatia GT CCS) in Croatia are the critera that most significantly contributed to declaration of the CO₂NTESSSA project as a project of strategic interest for the Republic of Croatia.

The CO₂NTESSA project is important for entire Slavonija, i.e. it represents an important segment in achieving the goals of the Slavonija, Baranja and Srijem project through which, through transfer and implementation of high technology, added value and significant positive social impact of the project will be created through the acquisition of new knowledge, employment and the stay of young people in Slavonija.

In addition to that, the project is aligned with strategic documents of the European Union and the Republic of Croatia, therefore its contribution to the achievement of the goals of the Europe 2020 Strategy, European Green Plan, Low-Carbon Development Strategy of the Republic of Croatia untill 2030 with a view to 2050 and National Development Strategy of the Republic of Croatia untill 2030 is expected.

„Today, we are in Našice to provide full support to the CO₂NTESSA project, which is a project that will enable the long-term competitiveness of NEXE Group and also contribute to the decarbonization of Croatia and the whole of Europe. Namely, about 4% of all emissions in the EU come from the cement industry, and this is the right way to use modern technologies to make a big contribution to decarbonization. In September, the Government of the Republic of Croatia included this project in the List of Strategic Projects of the Government of Croatia due to its exceptional importance for achieving decarbonization and long-term competitiveness of this region, but also of Croatia as a whole. The Croatian Hydrocarbon Agency and Plinacro are actively involved in the implementation of this project. The support for this project is just another clear indicator that the Government of the Republic of Croatia with its continued work is influencing and creating a framework for a favorable investment climate, i.e. for establishing Croatia as an even stronger investment destination", said the Minister of Economy and Sustainable Development Davor Filipović.

“We are extremely proud and grateful that the Government of the Republic of Croatia recognized the potential of this project by including it in the List of of Strategic Investment Projects of the Republic of Croatia. The CO₂NTESSA project is one of the few in the EU that has an efficient solution for disposal of captured CO2 through a transport pipeline to the Bockovci-1 location, where CO2 will be injected in the deposit-saline aquifer and it will enable synergy with the GT CCS project, which includes the renovation of existing decommissioned pipeline to transport captured CO₂ from the NEXE cement factory and construction of infrastructure for CO₂ storage with potential to become a regional hub for CO₂ and important turning-point in the development of carbon capture and storage in Croatia and beyond. Implementation of this project opens up great opportunities for us as a company, but also the whole industry and economy and due to natural CO₂ storage possibilities that we have in Croatia. We have a great opportunity to become a future hub for CO₂ management in the wider region and thus influence an important segment in the realization of the European Unions's Green Transition Plan“, said the President of the Board of NEXE d.d. Ivan Ergović.

Strategic investment projects of the Republic of Croatia are regulated by the Law on Strategic Investment Projects of the Republic of Croatia, which entered into force in April 2018. The competent administrative body for application of the project in order to declare it a strategic project is the Ministry of Economy and Sustainable Development. Strategic investment projects are enabled to be implemented faster while shortening the necessary administrative procedures. For each specific procedure, an exact deadline is prescribed for its implementation with the Operational Group providing support in all phases of implementation of the strategic project.

Let us remind you that NEXE d.d. presented the CO₂NTESSA project to the public in March this year when it was applied to the Innovation Fund, where, despite the challenging deadlines for its application, it was positively evaluated and a recommendation for technical support was obtained from the EIB. At NEXE they are satisfied because the Innovation Fund recognized the potential of this project, which, with the realization of recommended technical assistance could receive green light in the next phase, i.e. could receive funds for implementation.

 
We are pleased to inform you that on 16 March 2023 the CO₂NTESSA project was applied to the Innovation Fund large-scale call. In this way the project can bring up to EUR 200 million of additional EU funds to the Republic of Croatia. The process of evaluating project proposals follows, and in the meantime, we at NEXE continue our dedicated work on the activities of the implementation of the CO₂NTESSA project, at this stage by working on further preparation of project documentation. The CO₂NTESSA project includes modification of clinker production process based on the Oxyfuel technology of the second generation in Našice cement plant, it represents the most economic long-term solution for complete removal of CO₂ emissions and will result in production of CO₂-neutral cement from 2029.

 

A contract has been signed with company  thyssenkrupp Industrial Solutions AG for engineering  and modification of the clinker production process based on the newest Oxyfuel technology of the second generation

 
 In Zagreb, 14^th March  2023 – Cement plant  NEXE d.d., the largest company in  NEXE Group, a leading regional construction material producer presented today in Zagreb the CO₂NTESSA project. The project foresees plant modification based on the Oxyfuel technology of the second generation, the most economic long-term solution for complete elimination of CO₂ emissions.  CO₂NTESSA project is unique in the world with estimated value of EUR  400 million and it is one of the largest planned investments in the industry in Croatia that creates prerequisites for economy growth through potential future income from CO₂ transport and storage from Croatia and the region. On the 16^th March the project will be applied to the Innovation fund, that will enable co-financing of up to EUR 200 million.
 
On that occasion, President of the Board of  NEXE d.d. Ivan Ergović signed a contract with international group  Thyssenkrupp for engineering  and modification of the clinker production line based on the newest Polysius Oxyfuel technology of the second generation.  Thyssenkrupp is a group of largely independent industrial and technology businesses, which develop cost-effective and resource-friendly solutions for the challenges of the future, mainly in the fields of climate protection, energy transition, digital transformation in the  industry and mobility of the future. Technology that these two companies plan to implement in the plant focuses on capture of  CO₂ at the source of origin, unlike most other technologies that act only at the end of production process, while innovativeness of the project enables higher cost-efficiency of the process compared to other CO₂ capture technologies.  The project is spearheading in the size  of industrial application  of the mentioned technology and it is one of the few in the EU that has efficient solution for disposal of captured CO₂ by transport pipeline to location Bockovci-1 , where CO₂ will be injected in depot-saline aquifer.  
 
President of the Board of NEXE d.d. reminded  that the production of cement is an energy-intensive process during which significant CO₂ emissions occur, which is why NEXE Group has for years been extremely focused on the implementation of projects with the aim of reducing the carbon footprint, increasing energy efficiency and increasing the share of use of alternative fuels and raw materials.
 
„NEXE Group wants to be a leader in green transition and we are proud of all green projects we have implemented so far.  We designed CO₂NTESSA project with the aim of implementing carbon-neutral and cost-efficient cement production in the period from 2029 in order to ensure the long-term sustainability of operations.  It is a lighthouse  project in Europe and the world that includes the application of technology that will completely eliminate CO₂ emissions in production, which would figuratively mean half a million fewer vehicles on the roads", explained Ivan Ergović, adding that with the CO₂NTESSA project NEXE continues the green transition and ultimately creates prerequisites for the production of carbon-neutral cement.

Frank Ruoss, Member of the Board of the Business Unit Polysius of thyssenkrupp Industrial Solutions AG pointed out that that the decarbonization of industry is one of the most important tasks of our time.

„For the cement industry this means being able to produce its products in a more sustainable and CO₂-neutral way in the future. This is a major challenge that necessitates the use of new technologies. The polysius® pure oxyfuel technology enables optimal capture of CO₂ generated in the production process and is thus able to make significant contribution to the green transformation of the cement industry.  The use of this new technology takes our customer Nexe a big step further on the way to a green cement plant at the Našice site. We are proud to be able to walk this path for the CO₂NTESSA  project together with Nexe.", said Frank Ruoss. By signing the aforementioned contract, these two companies show their seriousness in the intention of building the first such large-scale factory in this part of Europe before the end of this decade.

Članica NEXE Grupe – tvornica crijepa Dilj Vinkovci prigodnom svečanošću i nizom aktivnosti obilježila 100 godina proizvodnje crijepa

01.07.2022. - Dilj d.o.o. Vinkovci, tvrtka u sastavu vodećeg regionalnog proizvođača građevinskog materijala NEXE Grupe, obilježila je danas, na središnjoj svečanosti u Gradskom kazalištu u Vinkovcima, 100 godina proizvodnje crijepa. Dilj ove godine obilježava i 20 godina od ulaska u poslovni sustav NEXE Grupe pod čijim su se okriljem realizirala brojna ulaganja i unapređenja poslovnih procesa koja su do danas dosegnula iznos od 385 milijuna kuna.

Dilj je od 2018. iskoristio i mogućnosti sufinanciranja projekata iz fondova Europske unije. Prvi  projekt povećanja energetske učinkovitosti i korištenja OIE u vrijednosti 24 milijuna kuna, sufinanciran potporom u iznosu 9,7 milijuna kuna od strane Europskog fonda za regionalni razvoj, Operativni program: Konkurentnost i kohezija 2014.-2020., realiziran je 2018./2019. godine i odnosio se na projekt nadogradnje tunelske peći i rekonstrukcije komornih sušara. Projekt je rezultirao uštedama u energiji, povećanjem učinkovitosti proizvodne linije i smanjenjem emisije CO2.

Nedavno je dovršen projekt energetske učinkovitosti i korištenja obnovljivih izvora energije na pogonu Slavonka u vrijednosti 13,3 milijuna kuna, sufinanciran potporom u iznosu od 7,2 milijuna kuna, a rezultirao je izgradnjom sunčane elektrane snage 1,1 MW s proizvodnjom energije za vlastite potrebe.

Dilj je jedino poduzeće u Republici Hrvatskoj kojem su odobrena sredstva Modernizacijskog fonda za novi projekt energetske učinkovitosti i ulaganje u promicanje energije iz obnovljivih izvora energije za tvornicu crijepa u Vinkovcima i tvornicu cigle u Našicama, koja je danas također dio Dilja.  Radi se o projektu za koji slijedi potpisivanje ugovora, a očekivani efekti projekta su smanjenje potrošnje energije u oba pogona, proizvodnja i korištenje energije iz OIE ugradnjom fotonapona, te smanjenje emisija CO2.

Na danas održanoj središnjoj svečanosti predstavljena je Monografija 100 godina Dilja o povijesti proizvodnje crijepa u Vinkovcima i stvaranja uspješnog Dilja kakav je danas o kojoj su govorili autori Zlatko Virc, mr.sc., povjesničar i magistar arheologije, prof. Vladimir Ćirić i Dražen Ivezić, član Uprave NEXE Grupe i direktor Dilja. Radi se o petoj po redu monografiji o radu Dilja – do sada su izdane monografije povodom 50, 60, 75 i 90 godina postojanja.

Dilj i nizom drugih događanja i aktivnosti obilježava 100 godina proizvodnje crijepa u Vinkovcima. Tako su u vinkovačkoj galeriji fotografije Meraja, u srednjovjekovnoj crkvici postavljene dvije izložbe:  Tvornica Zemlja koja obuhvaća radove saziva kiparske radionice 2012. – 2021., te izložba crno-bijelih fotografija vinkovačkog fotografa Zvonimira Tanockog pod nazivom Dilj – portreti, gdje su prikazani portreti radnika tvornice Dilj, snimljeni proteklih godina. Obje izložbe mogu se razgledati u Meraji do 24. srpnja 2022. svakoga dana od 18 do 20 sati.

U organizaciji Hrvatskog filatelističkog društva iz Vinkovaca izrađen je prigodni žig koji je Hrvatska pošta u čast 100 godina Dilja danas stavljala na svu odaslanu poštu iz Vinkovaca.

O Dilju

Dilj d.o.o. Vinkovci osnovan je 1922. godine i tvornica je tradicije i kontinuiteta u kvaliteti. Od 2002. godine posluje u sastavu NEXE Grupe – regionalnog proizvođača građevinskog materijala. Njegovu snagu danas čini i 330 zaposlenika u dvjema tvornicama crijepa u Vinkovcima i tvornici opeke u Našicama. Osim hrvatskog, Dilj je važan igrač i na inozemnim tržištima na koje izvozi više od 60% svoje proizvodnje.

Asortiman Dilja čine crjepovi velikog i malog formata, specijalni elementi i žljebnjaci, a u tvornici cigle u Našicama proizvodi se klasični i termo blok.

Dilj d.o.o. Vinkovci u 2021. godini ostvario je ukupni poslovni prihod od 178 milijuna kuna, što je 22% više u odnosu na 2020. godinu. Investicijska ulaganja u posljednjih 20 godina dosegnula su iznos od 385 milijuna kuna. Dilj ima uspostavljen Sustav upravljanja kvalitetom po normi ISO 9001 i Sustav upravljanja energijom po normi ISO 50001.

NEXE d.d. objavljuje poziv za dodjelu donacija nogometnim klubovima Nogometnog središta Našice u 2022. godini, a kojima je cilj potaknuti razvoj sporta i rad s najmlađim dobnim kategorijama lokalne zajednice.

Rok za dostavu prijava je od 20.05.2022. do 20.06.2022. godine.

Rezultati natječaja bit će objavljeni najkasnije 15. srpnja 2022. godine.

Kriteriji za odabir su:

a) Broj selekcija mladeži

Kategorija 1 – broj selekcija mladeži ≥6

Kategorija 2 – broj selekcija mladeži 3-5

Kategorija 3 – broj selekcija mladeži 1-2

Kategorija 4 – bez selekcija mladeži (samo seniori)

b) Projekt se u cijelosti ili djelomično odnosi na 2022. godinu

Tko se može prijaviti:

Kategorija 1 – financijska donacija

Kategorije 1,2 i 3 – gradnja infrastrukture (potreba za građevinskim materijalom)

Kategorije 1,2 i 3 – ostali namjenski projekti (npr. zamjena stolarije, instalacija, održavanje, opremanje igrališta…)

Kategorije 1,2,3 i 4 – sportska oprema (napomena: kategorija 2 i 3 – sportska oprema samo za selekcije mladeži)

Kategorije 1,2 i 3 – edukacije trenera

Komisija za odabir projekata sastavljena je od djelatnika NEXE d.d. 

Uvjeti i pravila Poziva:

a) Uvjeti:

Sudionici Poziva mogu biti nogometni klubovi članovi Nogometnog središta Našice.

Projekti koji se prijavljuju na Poziv moraju se u cijelosti ili djelomično odnositi na aktivnosti u 2022. godini.

Ne razmatraju se projekti koji su dovršeni ili koji se tek planiraju provesti u narednim godinama.

Odgovorna osoba prijavitelja na  Poziv ne može biti djelatnik NEXE d.d. ili neke od članica NEXE Grupe, niti član Komisije za odabir projekata, niti biti u privatnom ili poslovnom odnosu s članom Komisije.

b) Pravila:

Sudionik može podnijeti samo jednu prijavu na Poziv.

Projekt se prijavljuje na priloženom obrascu Poziva i kao takav mora sadržavati sve elemente navedene u obrascu, u protivnom se prijava neće razmatrati.

Podaci navedeni u prijavi moraju biti istiniti i podložni su provjeri.

Prijava se uvažava samo ako je poslana do 20. lipnja 2022. godine (uvažava se poštanski pečat s tim datumom).

Prijave koje nisu u skladu s navedenim uvjetima i pravilima neće se razmatrati.

NEXE d.d. isključivo iz vlastitih prihoda daruje donacije i zadržava pravo u svakom trenutku odustati od te donacije.

Prijavitelji isključivo sami snose odgovornost u slučaju dvostrukog financiranja projekta.
